All dives requiring tanks different than described above will have the tanks furnished with the course fee, however the gasses and fill charges will be supplied by the student, including the instructor's gasses (1 student pays for all gas-2 or more students split the instructor's gas cost). Whenever the instructor is diving with a rebreather the students will also share in the cost of all consumable supplies such as CO2 absorbent. Transportation to and from the classroom, confined water dives, and departure pier are to be furnished by the student. Any additional equipment not specifically included in course fees and required to complete a course and not owned by student may be rented with advance notice (see our rental page) As stated in the IANTD Standards "Training is purchased upon enrollment in an IANTD course. **Technical Level Courses ** All Students READ THIS
Once you make the descision to further your diving credentials and enter the technical field, there are a number of points you should consider. The prerequisite courses you took allowing you to continue into technical diving are designed in a progressive format causing you to learn a new set of skills and knowledge. IANTD standards set a minimum performance level in order to successfully pass a course. Upon course completion you are to continue practicing those newly learned skills untill they are imprinted into reflexive and muscle memory. This is intended not only for your diving skills, but also for your dive planning, equipment configuration, gas management, and calculation skills as well. Would you be satisfied to barley survive each dive with minimum performance skill level? I would hope not! Each step forward should bring a better ability to handle increasingly more stressfull situations with little or no change in buoyancy, trim, swim rate, breathing rate, and mental presence of your surroundings. Prior to enrollment into a course I expect you to purchase then read and complete all the written questions in the related course. Upon enrollment of the technical diver course and forward in subsequent courses, I will evaluate your skill level in all the categories during your first confined water session. With the exception of a few minor adjustments I do not expect to have to reteach you buoyancy control or any of the skills you should be proficient at, including all of the above. I will continue to evaluate your skill performance throughout all the dives and do a non-sugar coated debriefing after each dive. I will never berate or embarrass you. Remember this, "poorly learned skills are the first to be tossed aside in situations when they are needed the most". Poorly learned skills are a bad reflection on the instructor who taught them. With this in mind I am continually intrested in your ability and performance. I would expect that any one of my students enrolling in another instructor's course to be fully prepared and ready to procede, not to spend time relearning necessary skills. Each of the courses I teach require a confined water session plus a minimum number of bottom time minutes over a minimum number of dives completed over a set number of days, in addition to covering all the lectures and slide presentations. The final written exam at the end of each course takes considerable time. Come to my classes prepared to earn your certification. If it becomes apparent to me early in a course I am teaching you that your skills, both diving and other, are lacking, I reserve the right to increase the amount of time and/or dives to bring your skills to an acceptable level at additional cost to you. I will not pass a student who can not or will not perform at or above the IANTD minimum standards just because he/she has paid the course fees.
